Do you think some people take "blue collar" or "white collar" racist in the US? Should I be careful?

It's not really racist at all. But since it describes a person's social status, you should be careful. Nowadays people are easily offended.

In some places, to some people having a blue collar job is looked down upon. Conversely, to some people having a white collar job makes you a snob.
Most of the people who think this way are in the minority though and most of the time people are not very sensitive about it and are just happy to have a good job!

I don't believe so, but people don't go around calling people blue collar or white collar workers. They just say the job they do.

I think these terms are only used to encompass different types of jobs based on the way they work. Other than that you rarely hear those terms spoken. To be honest without context it takes me a second to figure out which is which.
