it depends, usually they stay in school for aboy 6h, but sometimes they have to stay in schools during the afternoon too, so they stay 8- 9h

instead if you meant how much they spend studying/doing homework it depends on what school they're attending because in Italy we have different types of high school, and they require different hours of study

It depends on the type of school
The students of Liceo study a lot( I attend a Liceo Scientifico and in the hardest periods I study 4-5-6 hours a day).
In Istituto Tecnico, Professionale and Scuole professionali I think they study less.

I used to study from about 3 pm to at least 9 pm cause my school was very hard and many times I had to study at night too. Plus I stayed at school from 8 am to 2 pm
