@Corey28 Yes, that’s correct. Both of the phrases ‘rumor has it’ and ‘haven’t you’ are correct individually, but it sounds very unnatural to use them in the same sentence / topic. You can use either one of the example sentences I gave in my previous answer, though.

It’s just the ‘haven’t you’ added at the end of that sentence that seems unnatural. Try using either one of these instead:
① “Rumor has it that you’ve broken up with your girlfriend. Is that true?”
② “You and your girlfriend have broken up, haven’t you?”

@meikora thanks! So do you mean that “haven’t you” sounds unnatural/odd because of the expression “Rumor has it” at the beginning of the sentence? Seriously, I included “haven’t you” just out of curiosity to know whether or not it would sound natural.
