a "(" is curved, a "^" is bent.

A bend would be if you took paper and folded it. There is now a bend in your paper

Usually when you say a bend, it implies that the rest of the thing is supposed to be straight. A curve is something that is supposed to be rounded.
Example: there's a bend in the road (which means the road is mostly straight)
The curve (rounded part) of the building looks good.
Sometimes curve and bend can be interchangeable though.

@___k_k___: As a noun, I don't think there is much difference, but a bend is usually bigger. A curve is often a smaller or more gradual change from a straight line. In some situations, either word is acceptable. However, I think curve is more likely to be used when there are several bends in a line or shape. 🐯 The tiger shape has many curves sounds more natural to me than the tiger shape has many bends. 🐯 (American English)
