Nope, they speak Portuguese.

They do have their own accent, which is very very strong! Same with Azores.

I wouldn't say it is a dialect but like a kind of accent with some words that you can't find anywhere else like babuginha (seashore) canalha (a group of kids) estepor (someone who bugs others) semilhas (potatoes) etc.

@MarieOliveira: @Koi_jp_212: He asked if they spoke some kind of dialect, which they don't.. Of course there's going to be some kind of accent, there are also loads of accents in continental Portugal. And btw, canalha and *estupor are also said in continental Portugal....

@JoaoM123 I never said they spoke a dialect, they don't. I just added that they have a strong accent, sometimes making it difficult to understand them. While there are indeed many other accents in continental Portugal, Madeira's and Azore's accents are very unique and unlike any other you can find in Portugal

Yes!! I'm from there and Madeira has its own dialect like other places in Portugal. We call it madeirense. I think in English is madeiran.
