A general thought among Indians about British is that they looted,tortured and killed Indians for 200 years. They get reminded of the number of massacres. About how the poverty in India is a result of British colonialism. However, people would agree that modern British cannot be held accountable for the deeds of colonialists.
The younger generation seems to be somewhat unbothered by the history though and most Indians admire the language and manners of the British people.
