You can either choose to believe the rumor or come to China and see what the real China looks like.

What i believe in is not what China tells me but what i feel born and live in China. How can foreigners who have never come to China think they understand China better than the Chinese?

irst and foremost，we should know that China is a country with the largest population，the unique long history of 5000 years which has never been interrupted，and one of the countries with the biggest territory，the most powerful military and the best economic. We are so complex and we have our own culture and feature that those aspects of the west dont necessarily apply for China.
Whats more，we all know that there is no perfect country that China do have some problems. But that China has some problems sometimes somewhere doesn't represent that China always has problems everywhere. Thus it doesn't mean the government and the current party chairman has the most human rights violations right？
Lastly，people who dont like China or have a biased opinion on China choose to leave China so maybe what you met are just like the people mentioned above just like some media abroad which devotes to China’s negative news.（it doesn't mean all people choose leave China are biased，you know）
We understand and know our country so we know what the government does is well or not，and the reports abroad fake or not. But as foreigners have never been in China so they only have one way to know China，which is just the people or report mentioned above.So I dont think its right that foreigners know China better that those native Chinese people，dont you think so？

I get what you said, yes, there are many things are hidden and blocked in mainland. I knew Tiananmen Square issue, but I never heard such thing about Xi’s “human rights abuses” therefore I’m seeking reliable source of information from you. And your logic is, because NZ is a democratic country, therefore nothing is hidden. Yes, NZ is a great country, but what I’m not agree is that “democratic countries hide nothing”.  Anyway, great to have this conversation.

I think Xi is more centralized than Jiang and Hu. And now he is trying to establish a personal worship in China even in the world and we often compare him with Putin in private conversation. It's real that Internet censorship is strengthened after he acceded. If you want to see some up-to-date issues in China, you can browse Sina Weibo, but most of the sensitive information would be censored or deleted quickly. If you want to know the policies and guidelines of CCP or Chinese government, you can refer to Xinhua Daily(新华日报), Chinese Youth Newspaper(中国青年报), China Daily(中国日报) and so on. The essays of them are of high quality and of great value to learn.
