Gezin is only referring to your mom/dad/sister(s)/brother(s), familie is also referring to your uncles aunts nieces nephews etc. don’t get confused here but your ‘gezin’ is familie, but not all familie is your gezin. So when you talk about your familie you include everyone who’s related to you (even like the cousin of your aunt), but when you talk about your gezin, your only talking about mom dad sister brother. If you have children and live on your own, your gezin is your husband and children (you start a new gezin), so it’s really just a collection of family members you live with!!
