i am learning genders in Arabic lately. i had some doubts.
firstly i wanted to confirm that in Arabic if the sentence is "student is smart" then both student and smart have male and female forms. right?
and if the sentence is "student is reading" then both student and reading have to be changed to either female or male. unlike english where verbs and adjectives have same form for both male and female. IS THAT ACCURATE???

secondly, is there an easy way to recognise whether a word is feminine or masculine??
and could anyone pleeaase identify the following words as masculine or faminine??

apple
shoe
water
pen
window
ground

For you first question, yes that is accurate and what you said is right.

As for an easy way to recognize feminine or masculine.
We add تاء التأنيث which is written as ة to the end of a feminine adj.
for example:
Smart : ذكي
That is the masculine, if we want the feminine, it becomes like this
ذكية

As for verbs in the present tense, the masculine starts with يَ / يَـ
While the feminine verbs starts with ت / تَـ
Example:
Read
Masculine: يقرأ
Feminine: تقرأ

As for nouns:
There are two categories:
1/ Nouns that end with تاء التأنيث are feminine. But there are some nouns that ends with ة but are masculine. (Not a lot of words though)

2/ words that do not end with ة and they are feminine. For example, girls names.

Apple: تفاحة
Ground: أرض
Window: نافذة
Those are feminine

Shoe: حذاء
Water: ماء
Pen: قلم
Those are masculine.
