Hi

This is a question about movie /history of the battle of Sebastopol (2015 movie).

I'm a big fan of ww2 history, and once thing I was really dismayed with was the end of the movie which seemed to be narrated from an a American perspective and painted the soviet leadership as being we because they didn't do any mass evacuation of people.

However this ignores the reality of the situation, whereby the black Sea fleet lost 3/4 of all ships (including merchant ships) in continuous resupply and evacuation operations. People were evacuated until the last moment, and even after the peninsula was taken the navy sent many patrol boats (despite that being very risky) hoping to rescue anyone swimming away or in makeshift rafts, and in fact many more people were picked up at sea.

In addition to this, in real life she was taken out of active duty after being injured by mortar fire and was never made to fight despite being injured, in fact she was evacuated in 1942, along with many other people.

Given the movie was made jointly by companies and producers in Russia and Ukraine, why is there such a negative attitude towards soviet leaders and such a negative and ahistorical ending?
