That "difficult thing" he's referring to is my desire to effectively study reciprocally together. I see now that he really doesn't seem to care about such a "difficult thing". It was entirely my fault for seeking out a language partner a year ago when I first began my studies. At that time, I was so 'head-over-heals' with wanting to learn Japanese, that I didn't fully consider the possible consequences of interacting with random stangers who indeed, are not professionals and whose interests result in varying greatly from my own. I made a very poor decision, which has resulted in me throwing hundreds of my precious hours down the drain through chatting online without actually learning anything in my misguided attempt to 'language exchange'. I've suffered the negative consequences of condemning myself to this process, and I've learned my lesson. Your reply has helped me to see that it was 'I' who was deluded in my original quest to seek out a partner. For that, I thank you sincerely once again! I'll be sticking to the wonderful HiNative :) from now on, where anyone can ask and answer questions on the topic of languages. I think that the HiNative system keeps emotional interaction with strangers kept to a minimum, and instead the framework is designed to encourage just the asking and answering of questions. It's purely geared toward education and learning 24/7, unlike external partners who are not. Thanks again for opening my eyes to the reality of the situation! Because I can see clearly, I know what's the best option for me. :) Thank you.
