As for 'the freedom of the Americas', how come does the author use plurals as 'the Americas'? Does that indicate Americas include Middle and South Americas?
Thank you for your help.

Domanda in primo piano
@mashichi65 ‘the Americas’ is treated as a noun because in order for something to have freedom, it must first obtain sustenance. by saying ‘the Americas’ the author gives the term sustenance. furthermore, it makes more sense to say “the freedom of the Americas” because if you said “America’s freedom” it would imply that you were only talking about only one America instead of the two that exist.

@mashichi65 the word ‘Americas’ is plural because the author is referring to both North America and South America.

@mashichi65 no problem! I hope I didn’t confuse you. “the freedom the Americas” is the phrase that makes sense. basically, you have to use the term ‘the Americas’ because you’re talking about a plural noun. there are two Americas so you have to call them ‘the Americas’

I see❣️
Sorry for making sure repeatedly💦
So you mean the reason why you use the definite articles for America is because it's different from general noun, but the number of countries called 'America' are limited?
So, for example you rather say,
'the freedom of dogs' and not 'the freedom of the dogs'?
