It depends on what you like :)
Usually people who like hiking go to places like Colorado. Others who like tropical weather (like me) go to places on the East Coast like Florida and South Carolina or California (California is on the West Coast). People go to places like Texas and Arizona too, for hot places.

It also depends money wise, it’s super super expensive to live in places like California and New York. I personally like Florida because it has nice warm weather and it’s not expensive to live here.

It really can depend on so many factors: on your income, the type of weather you prefer, the type of people that live there, the political background of the majority, being close to (or far away from) family, having a community of people that is similar to you.
The coastal areas (west and east) are known for being more liberal, while the middle parts of the country are more conservative. The south (all across) is known for it's warmer climates, while the north is colder. There are more immigrant communities on the coasts than in middle America. New York and Los Angeles would be the highest populated and have the highest costs of living. Cost of living is significantly cheaper in the middle part of the country.
