This was on "Mad Men" last Sunday.
It means "You would not want to stop them from having a dessert"
That is the simplest language I can use to explain it, I think. Does it make sense now?

Yes, it's from Mad Men. If Don's line ""The blender was broken at the diner" is as it is literally, how does it relate to Betty's line? And who're "them"? And by the way, the diner is referred to "that" diner of episode 9???

Mad Men is not an obvious show. It does not show every scene in the characters' lives. For this reason, it would be a difficult show for an English learner!
We are to assume that Don and his kids went to a diner, a small restaurant (even though it wasn't shown). The blender at the diner, which makes shakes (desserts) was broken (again not shown). The kids were therefore not able to have dessert at the restaurant.
So, Don brought the children back to Betty's house to use her blender to make shakes. Betty says "You wouldn't want to deprive them of dessert". She is being a little bit sarcastic -- something like "you give them everything. Of course you would make them a shake, so they can have their dessert." It's a perfect Betty line, filled with a little jab and a little sarcasm and a little jealousy.
Does it make sense? If you can understand most of Mad Men, you are doing great! Again, it is a difficult show for an English-learner. Even for native English speakers, many times we don't really know what is going on and have to "fill in the blanks" for ourselves.

That's clear! I like that New York and that age of America culturally, politically, and socially aside from those characters. I'm so into this show that I am trying to figure it all out. Native's advice like you is inevitable. Thank you so much!

You're welcome! I love the show too and am also fascinated by that era.
You might like the website Tom and Lorenzo: http://tomandlorenzo.com/2015/04/mad-men-new-bu...
They look at every episode and explain it in a clear way. The link above is to the most recent episode we are discussing. They use lots of photos, which will also help you understand which scene they are referring to.
Are you able to watch "Mad Men" in Japan, or are you in the United States now?

Also look at Tom and Lorenzo's "Mad Style" posts, which discuss the costumes and socio-political events. These are their posts with the most photos. They have one for every episode, if you search their website. Here is one: http://tomandlorenzo.com/2015/04/mad-style-seve...

In this final's final, I am expecting some episode in LA, not Megan, but something to remind us of Anna. any episode where both two of them are is my favorite.
