I was wondering if "some apple" is OK. I think I can say "an apple" if I use a whole apple, but when I use half of the apple, I should say "some apple" right?

@Rydia @Airin_Aren Thank you! By the way, "half of an apple" and "half an apple" are the same, aren't they?

@u-1 That's correct!
If you replace "an apple" with a pronoun like "it" or "that", "of" is needed.
Half of it = Correct
Half it = Incorrect
