How do you recieve packages in block buildings?
I want to send my boyfriend in Singapore a package and some cupcakes for his birthday but I'm not sure when someone will be home and I want it to be a surprise. What will happen if they try to deliver and no one's home?

@katieh If you send it by post and he’s not in, they will leave a note at the door, and he will have to bring the note to the nearest post office to collect it in person. I’ve sent packages home from overseas multiple times, and this is what usually happens. For the cupcakes, however, that is usually managed by some third party courier company instead of the Singapore post office, so things can be very different.

They'll bring it back to the nearest post office and ask him to pick it up.

There is a floor number to every block unit just like in those high rise buildings every where else in the world. So long the address is accurate, it will be delivered and out postal service is highly reliable.

If recipient is not home when package is being delivered, there will be a note to inform him to collect it at the nearest postal office near his home.
