Unfortunatally, Italian people are not interested about other accents. Most people are very meticolous and pretend a good Italian accent. Personally, I like different accents and I think that italian is not a simple language. So I appreciate them.

I think Italians are often found unprepared when a foreign persons shows up to them, of course it depends on the person! But for my exeperience, a lot of italians struggle with english so they might feel more uncomfortable rather than attracted by that person haha

Not really, personally I like Spanish accent, but I don't think that generally foreign accents are considered attractive, but I don't know, it might just be me.

@giuemax:not sure but I think "pretend" is a false friend, maybe "demand" or "require" would be more appropriate?

I personally find American accent kinda funny, it always make me smile (in a good way, not in a mocking manner).
I believe every person who is making an effort to learn a foreign language is to be admired, therefore all accents are great because they are a prove of that effort ;)
