@MyDayisSunday I'm not sure what you mean by familiar. Everyone here in the US will understand you if you use ain't.

@MyDayisSunday people will sometimes use ain't instead of...
-am not
-is not
-are not
I understand non-native English speakers probably hear ain't a lot, so they'd like to use it, and know when to use it... it's just not a word I'd recommend using to those studying English. native English speakers will sometimes use it for emphasis, when joking around, or when it's part of a phrase/idiom/whatever. it's a very casual thing to say though..
Instead of ain't, I'd just say am not, is not, are not, or isn't/aren't.

ain't is very informal and can be
(am not) "I ain't gonna do that" (are not) "they ain't gonna do that" (have not) "you ain't heard of that before?"
but althogh ain't for "are not" and "am not" is fairly common outside of dialects; using ain't for have not is a lot more dialectal as far as I know. The two main dialects to use ain't are AAVE (African American vernacular English) and southern american English (not sure what the proper name is). I've also heard it a couple of times from British people but don't know what dialects use it.

@MyDayisSunday and just to clarify I meant that I've heard British people use it as am not and are not. Not have not.

Lol please don’t use ain’t ! My ears will bleed if I hear it again. 😂
Technically it is in the English dictionary, but It's really not proper English.
