Mary is beyond compare, with curly locks of golden hair. sembra naturale?

In the English language, do you use the word "locks" for hair with waves/light curls? In Norwegian we call such natural hair "lokker". Is there another more precise English word?

locks can be used to describe any kind of hair, especially if it is voluminous

Thanks. I tried googling "natural locks" first, but all I found were these images which looks like braids. So I wasn't sure if "locks" meant what I thought it meant.

"locks" can also be short for "dreadlocks" which is a hairstyle for African hair
