So, this means that an adjective talks about a "thing." It can be a person, place, or thing.

'Spooky' is an adjective ('spooky' IS an adjective. this is describing 'spooky' as an adjective)
I use a lot ("I use many times")
in writing. ("when I write")
So, this means that "spooky" is a word that I use many times when I write.

Many sentences ("a lot of sentences")
contain ("have")
adjectives.
So, this means that a lot of sentences have adjectives in them.

@rahul66 A "verb" is an action. (run, laugh, eat, etc.)

A "transitive verb" describes an action happening to an "object."

"He eats." Not transitive. What does he eat?
"He eats apples." Transitive. The object is "apples."

"He kicked." Not transitive. What does he kick?
"He kicked his sister." Transitive. The object is "his sister."

A "copular" or "linking" verb is a special kind of verb used to join an "adjective" or "noun complement" to a subject.
Common examples are: be (is, am, are, was, were), appear, seem, look, sound, smell, taste, feel, become and get.

For example:
"Peter is my boyfriend."
The verb is asserts that Peter and "my boyfriend" are the same person.
"Peter is British."
The verb is assigns the quality of "Britishness" to Peter.

"The stew smells good."
The stew doesn't have a nose. It can't "smell." The verb describes the stew as having a good scent.

@rahul66 There are many types of dynamic verbs, but most of them describe activities or events which can begin and finish. Here are some examples:

Dynamic Verb		Examples
play	--- "She plays tennis every Friday."
She's playing tennis right now.
melt	--- "The snow melts every spring."
The snow is melting right now.
hit	--- "When one boxer hits another, brain damage can result."(This suggests only ONE punch.)
"When one boxer is hitting another, brain damage can result." (This suggests MANY repeated punches.)

Dynamic verbs, as you can see from the table above, can be used in the simple and perfect forms (plays, played, has played, had played) as well as the continuous or progressive forms (is playing, was playing, has been playing, had been playing).

"Stative verbs" refer to a state or condition that is unchanging.
Here are some examples:

Stative Verb	Examples
hate --- "I hate chocolate."
believe --- "She believes in UFOs."
contain --- "The box contains 24 cans of soda."
own --- "Yong owns three motorbikes."

Note that we CANNOT use these verbs in the continuous (progressive) forms. Owning is a state, not an action, so it is always in the simple form.
"Mary owns three cars."
NOT "Mary is owning three cars."
