I have long, straight black hair.
No, you don't need the hyphens.
"Hair" can be countable or uncountable. In this sentence it is uncountable. (How many hairs do you have on your head? You can't count them, so the hair on your head in uncountable.) "Hair" is uncountable, so you need to leave out "a".

@OldGeezer Nice, that is exactly what I would have suggested. (^^ I didn't know the word "hypens", I would have used "dashes" instead. Do they mean the same?

@Proost A hyphen and a dash is not the same thing.
- This is a hyphen.
– — These are dashes.
– This is an n-dash.
